I heart NKOTB...

Oh yes, they are coming back. I got so excited on Sunday when I read about it on the internet. Click here: NKOTB to read more. Growing up, I became a huge fan of the New Kids On The Block. I mean avid fan. Me & my friends were so obsessed. Yes, I watched the Saturday morning cartoon. I had pictures, posters, videos, magazines. I had it all.

You see, back in middle school, we would write books about them. Oh how I would give anything to have a copy of one of these. They weren’t just typical books, they were tales of us and the member of the band that we loved. My book was about me & Jordan. Ok secretly, I hated Jordan. Who wears a Batman jacket on stage? Honestly. I mean, I didn’t think he was cute at all. But, here’s the thing, one day we were in the gym, waiting for school to start. We all declared who we liked and who we would write about. One girl, Trish, told us she liked Joey and he was hers. We couldn’t have him. Sarah G. claimed Donnie so he was out. Amy claimed Jonathan and well, I couldn’t like him either. Well, I don’t think they “claimed” them so much as said “I like ______” Nonetheless, I was left with Jordan or Danny. Danny looked like a monkey and had a stupid rat tail, so Jordan it was. Internally, I was obsessed with Donnie. He was the bad boy and he was so cute!! I even had a secret book that I wrote about but told nobody!!! At school, I put on a brave face, and took Jordan. Why didn’t I confess this to my friends? I don’t know. I think I was 13 and I was so scared they would be mad at me and hate me!!

We would bring the books to school and in between classes, we would exchange them to read what everybody wrote. I remember Amy’s book the most. Surprisingly, I don’t even remember my own. In her book, Jonathan gave her his class ring and she dropped it down the toilet. That was the plot of her book but I loved it, at the time. Now, if I read any of these, I would laugh and laugh and laugh. (Side note: I used to write books all the time about boys that I liked and still have a few of those). However, everything turned sour. There was an entire summer that Sarah and I didn’t speak to each other. Why? I can’t remember exactly..LIE!! I totally remember!! It’s because she didn’t include me in her book. How DARE she!?!?! I remember sitting on the band room floor with Carla Hale and we were exchanging notes with her. I mean they were NASTY notes…for a seventh grader. Seventh grade was also the year that Mr. “Tinkle Bag” Denham had to do an intervention between me & Sarah. We got into a big argument in the lunchroom and well, that’s middle school.

I remember getting into a tearful argument with my brother one time. We were coming back from a summer mission trip. We were in the church van and he got everybody in the van making fun of the NKOTB. When I got home, I ran into my room and cried and cried. How dare he embarrass me like that. But I just loved them.

I signed up for e-mail notifications of tour dates. No matter where they go, I’m sure they probably won’t come to Birmingham. But I’ll find a venue close enough that me, Amy and Sarah can go. I’ve already warned Chris that I’m going and to get over it.

Why wouldn’t I want to go see guys, who are now like 40, perform this:

Music, Lyrics and Amy-Oh My!

(This was from yesterday but I forgot to post it)
I love music. We have XM Radio and my favorite channel is the 90’s. I like the 80’s too, but 90’s on 9 is my favorite. Chris & I argue about this all the time. He doesn’t understand why I leave it on one station, when we have like 100 and I don’t understand why he won’t stop changing the stupid channel. Just Friday, we had this discussion.

Usually, whenever I hear a song, it reminds me of a certain person or a specific event. It could be waiting at Marian Caryan’s (I totally butchered the spelling) house before going to school or going to Dori Landry’s house after school. They lived a street over from me so I practically lived there throughout middle school. Maybe it was a band camp memory..who knows. But it’s just funny how I can something by a group, for instance, Color Me Badd and instantly a memory comes to mind. Like, “that’s the time that I was with Amy and I bought their tape and it cost $10.69”. Only that last part is in a weird voice because the cashier had an accent. To this day, we both still talk about that.

The thing about music, like movies, is that I can hear a line and sing it over and over. Not sure how long I’ve been able to remember music but there was a time where I couldn’t understand some of the words. HOWEVER, I remember the pivotal moment that changed that. I remember when the song “Tubthumping” by Chumbawamba came out. I though it was so catchy, but I could NOT understand the chorus. One day, Amy was at my house and I happen to ask “Hey, do you know what the words are to that song by Chumbawamba? It’s like ‘I get no..’. I just don’t know.” She says to me, “Yes. They say “I get no time, but like an old mechanic, you’re never gonna keep me down”. I said “OH ok” I didn’t think that made any sense at all. She even had a justification to it about older mechanics working so much they don’t get much time off, or whatever. Again, made no sense but I didn’t know the words. A few weeks later, she calls me and says that she was wrong. The words are “I get knocked down, but I get up again” and we just laughed and laughed. I mean, we howled!! I heard that song 2 days ago and I started singing “I get no time, but like an old mechanic…” At that moment, I learned never to ask Amy what the words to a song are.

I love to bust Amy on the words to a song. I had her on hold one day, when she called me at work. When I came back, she was singing and messed up the lyrics. It cracked me up. I think now, she won’t even sing around me because she is afraid she’ll be wrong and I’ll bust her. There are so many songs and so many errors. Aside from the one listed above, my other favorite was when she sang the line “Mama says to me” during 98 Degrees “The Hardest Thing”. (The line is “Promises to keep”) We were on our way to Erin Logan’s shower & I just remember we laughed so hard we were crying. Which is nothing new.

I had a co-worker e-mail me the other day and ask me for some help. Her friend was having a party for another friend & she was making a mix tape. I HEART MIX TAPES!!! Anyway, she needed help coming up with three to five songs from the 80’s to describe her friend. She gave me a description and I went to work. I thought this was a great idea so I’m going to tweak it. Just because the 90’s are my favorite decade, doesn’t mean that’s yours. So here’s a little quiz: What are three to five songs from your favorite musical decade that describe you?
Here are mine:
1) “Step by Step” - New Kids On The Block
2) “Can’t Touch This” - MC Hammer
3) “Elevators (Me and You)” - Outkast
4) “November Rain” - Guns N Roses

Okay, so maybe these don’t describe me, but they stand out as songs during important moments. I don’t know. But I do know this: “Baby, Don’t Forget My Number”!!

Poor thing...

My sweet sweet baby Bear is sick!! This picture is after his trip to the vet yesterday. He's had this crazy cough for months. Saturday, he layed around and I knew it was time to take him to the vet because he wasn't eating. I took him yesterday and he had a slight fever and really sore throat. I felt so bad when the vet said "I noticed that he was treated for bronchitis in October. I didn't get to re-check him two weeks later" D'ohh!! How horrible am I? They gave us some medicine, which he gets to eat in some cheese, but the whole thing was expensive.

We don't have kids, but my animals are my kids. That's how I treat them. Now that I'm married, I get this question all the time: "So, don't you want a baby?" I mean, I remember coming back from my honeymoon & a co-worker asked me that. Give me a dang break. Yes we want them, but not for another 4 years or so. I want to live in a house first. I go back and forth, internally, sometimes with do I really want kids? Would I be a good mom? I'm sure that I would be. I just don't know. It's just something that I think about a lot lately. Not sure why. I know that if I got pregnant, Chris & I would keep the baby and take on a new role as parents. Sometimes, I think about all the kids that need to be adopted and maybe that's what God has in store for us. I don't know. But I know this, whatever is dealt to me & Chris, well, we will deal with it.

I know that Bear, Happy and Bibi are animals and not real kids. I'm not that crazy. I know they are really not meant to be domesticated, but they are. I just know how bad I feel about Bear being sick and somewhere in my brain, I thought "would I forget to take my child to the doctor?" Probably not, but lately, I question myself and I know I shouldn't. I really think it's the devil and I need to "shooo" him away!

My weekend and the SAG awards

Had a great weekend. Friday, we went to Montgomery to give Madeline (Chris’ niece) her birthday gift. Saturday, I went to the gym and then we hung out with Amy & Adam and had a great time. (Hey Amy: “Clickity clog, thanks for reading my blog!”) For those of you who won’t understand that, I’m sorry. On Sunday, we went to Piccadilly for their breakfast buffet and then to church. We went to Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church and it was so great. My grandfather, Poppa, has been a greeter there for, well longer than I’ve been alive. He was not expecting us so I walked up and said “Excuse me sir, but can you show us around?” He stared right through me and said “Show you around??” and there was a 3-4 second delay and he realized it was me & Chris. It was so funny. He sat next to us during the service and whispered to me a couple of times “I was not expecting me…you got me Sqooze”. Oh I how I love him! After that, I went to spin class and then came home & napped and did nothing. I did; however, watch the SAG awards.

I love, yet loathe, all the pre-shows. It’s crazy because it drives me crazy but I started watching E! and TV Guide’s pre-SAG show. I was flipping back and forth & not sure why. However, I did almost see Angelina bust on the red carpet which made my night. I don’t care what you say, she stole Brad from Jennifer. Yes, I like to talk about celebrities like we are BFF!! Side note: WGA (Writers Guild Association), please get your act together. Can’t you see the celebrities want to come back to work? Anyway, I was glad to see all of the stars. Congratulations to the cast of “The Office”! They won last night. I literally yelled out “YES!!” when they announced the winner.

Another thing I love is that this week, there will be all kind of fashion shows where “celebrity stylists” can critique what everybody wore. As I was watching last night, I think my favorite outfit were these two ensembles by America Ferrerra and Nikki Blonsky:

I’m glad that there are celebs out there that aren’t stick thin. They both looked great!!

Which one is better?

In looking back through my TV history, there are only 2 shows that stand out that I watch religiously. I mean, I watch re-runs like they are new episodes. Yes, I loved Friends. Yes, I loved Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Yes, I loved Alf. Yes, I loved Silver Spoons. Yes, I loved Frasier. Yes, I loved Golden Girls (not as much as Amy does!). Yes, I love..ok, I could go on for hours. However, lets look at two of my all time favorite television shows:

Will and Grace
I remember the first episode of Will and Grace that ever caught my eye. Where Grace gets the water bra. It’s from Season 2. Anyway, every week night at 10:00, I watch Will & Grace on Lifetime. Chris & I have a battle EVERY single night to watch this. I give him major credit for letting me watch it. He will at least tolerate it. In fact, last night, he even laughed a few times, but don’t tell him I said that. Sometimes, we’ll compromise. Like Wed night, I told him he could watch whatever as long as I could watch Will & Grace on Thursday night. He did & I did too.

Out of all of the characters, Jack is my favorite. Now, I don’t like how whiny he was in towards the end of the series, but he cracks me up. Always talking about how Will is fat “Ha, ha ha…you’re bloated”. Or announcing he is bored (picking up the phone) “Hello? What's that? I'm bored? Thanks for calling.” His name throwing lines “Haley Joel Osment, you look fantastic!” The one man show “JUST JACK”. His crazy wishes “1. Five hundred thousand dollars all in fifties. 2 A Shetland pony died pony blue to match my eyes. 3 Powder Blue Eyes. “ I could go on and on. But I love Jack. Believe it or not, he reminds me a lot of someone that I know. I just wish this person would exit from the closet, if you will. Back to the subject at hand.

For Christmas, Chris got me Season 2 on DVD and I almost cried I was so excited. He asked me what was my favorite episode. I think my response was “all of them”. Since then, I have been thinking about it. Finally, my favorite one came on the other day. Here is the best scene:

The Office
Another show, that I watch religiously, is The Office. One reason I love this show, aside from not having a laugh track, is that it reminds me of my everyday life. I don’t think I would appreciate it otherwise. I came upon this show one Thursday out of boredom. It came on and it was the episode where Jim puts Dwight’s office supplies in the vending machine. Ok but really, the best part is that I used to work with a guy that reminds me of Dwight. I won’t say the place, but I will use his name, Neal. I confirmed this with another former co-worker and my brother (he worked there as well). Neal is Dwight, I’m sorry folks but that makes it more hilarious to me. When you have a character that mimics a real life person - that rocks.

Out of all of the characters, I have a tie between all of them. Andy and Dwight. Both are so ridiculous. Andy with his a capella group “Here Comes Treble” and always singing. Then there’s Dwight (Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica) with no heart/soul and a beet farm. Yes I love the way Jim and Dwight don’t get along (see Conflict Resolution from Season 2) and I love that Jim and Pam are together. I love how crazy their boss, Michael Scott is too! I find myself saying “That’s what she said” all the time. His hate for Toby cracks me up. Why does he hate Toby? I don’t know. Since I can’t think of one good moment, here are a few funny moments out of a thousand:

Quotes, part 1 - Movies

I have an obsession with quoting movies, tv, music or people that I know. I've already quoted movies in some of my other blogs. Today, it's about movies.

I have tons and tons of favorite movies. I’ll watch them over and over again. Some people can watch a movie once and they are done. Not me. I watch them to the point that I can quote them. Chris, along with most people, hates watching movies with me because of this quoting ability. I can watch a movie one time & have some kind of quote from it. I think the best news I recently received is that my nephew has this awesome ability. I was so excited.

The funny thing about my addiction to quoting movies is that it’s one of the thousand reasons that I love my husband. I can randomly say “I’m bored” and he’ll say “You’re not bored, you just can’t think of anything good to do”. [Side note - if you can correctly name that movie, I’ll mail you a gift] It is just awesome. We both walk around and randomly say movie quotes and the other can finish it. Or we’ll quiz each other. He might say, “What’s this from: C’mon guys! It’s all ball bearings these days!”. I’ll say “Fletch”. It just goes on forever.

Here are some of my favorite quotes:
* “WOAH!!! I’m ok, I’m ok”
* “Are you kidding me? I love crab cakes! They're phenomenal!”
* “Your mom goes to college”
* “Right, cause ‘baby fish mouth’ is sweeping the nation”
* “Fine!! Let’s do all the things that YOU wanna do!”
* “Cause for the rest of my life, I’ll be remembered as the girl who ‘went’ on the front seat”
* “It’s HERBIE Hancock”
* “I’m gonna be honest, that smells like pure gasoline”
* “That man hates cans!!! Stay away from the cans”.
* “Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.”
* “W..w…wait a minute, this ain’t enough!”, “Make it enough”
* “Now place the ring on his hand. A ring is like a circle, it goes on forever. It's not like a triangle, triangle have corners. It's like a circle.”
* “I like smiling. Smiling’s my favorite”
* “’Joe? Just call me Joe? As though you were one of those stupid 22 year old girls with no last name? Hi, I'm Kimberly, hi I'm Janice. Don't they know you're supposed to have a last name? It's like they're an entire generation of cocktail waitresses.’ Look, I'm not a 22 year old cocktail waitress.”
* “…and wearing a small pair of puymps”

Ok, I’ll stop there because I could go on for hours. “Peach,,,,mmm, I could eat a peach for hours”. AAAGGHH!! Stop. Anyway, not that anybody reads this OR comments (you know, you don’t have to have an account with blogger to comment) but what is your favorite movie, scene or quote?

My first time...

Yesterday, was my first time to sleep in a separate bed from my husband. No we weren’t in a fight. We weren’t even mad at each other. It was all my cat’s (Bibi) fault. When I got home from my spin class (where I had the worst teach EVER), Chris was feeding the dogs. He told me to go into our bedroom because he thought he smelled cat urine. I threw my stuff and ran back there. Immediately, I could smell it before I saw it. After saying some not so nice things, I told Chris to start the washing machine.

Years ago, I had this same problem with Bibi. I went to the vet & spent over $200 because I thought he had a urinary tract infection. Yes, he had a high amounts of Vitaman C in his urine…I have no idea what that means either. I just know he had a small issue. Turns out, my cat was being spiteful. I was living with my parents at the time and was going out a lot. I’d go hang out with friends and just be gone for hours. I finally got smart and took two garbage bags and cut them opened. I taped them together and that was my comforter. I told Bibi “Go ahead and tinkle on my bed, but I’m not doing laundry at 2:00 A.M!”. Ugh, ok so I tend to talk to my animals. Chris & I both do. He’ll probably freak whenever he reads this, but Bibi, Bear & Happy all have their own voice. We say different phrases to them too. I think I’ll stop right there.

So Chris had to go to the store because we were out of a certain cleaning product. I did a pre-treatment on the mattress while he was gone & started washing the comforter. Anytime Bibi came near me yesterday, I made him get away from me. I was so mad at him. Chris bought this stuff that you have to spray into a soiled area and let it dry naturally. No hair dryer can be applied to speed it up. Chris & I can over spray something to death. He is horrible with air freshener!! Anyway, he started dinner (I have a great husband) and sprayed the mattress to the point that it looked like someone had spilled a bucket of water on it. The more I thought about it, I told Chris that I can’t sleep there. Bibi made a mess on my side…thanks. He said we could sleep in our guest bed. Which is fine but it would just be crammed. See, our bed is a California king size and we can stretch out. We both sleep real crazy. Our guest bed is a double. So it’s like we are sleeping in a sleeping bag. I had to change those sheets as well because that is also Bear’s bed. Yes, I change the sheets whenever we have people spend the night. I found our back-up comforter (mom would be so proud) and had a clean bed ready to go. I sat down on it & thought how much it would stink being crammed in it. I have to sleep on my stomach and with my legs shaped like a 4…so does Chris. So we talked about it and after really talking about it, we agreed it would be best to be in separate beds. We're at the age where sleeping comfortably is important. I told him “I hate that we’re in separate beds because it’s like we’ve had a fight. But I’m not mad because I’ll leave the door open”. He thought it was funny. We’ve gone to bed upset with each other, but always in the same bed. He threatened one time to sleep on the couch & I started crying. He knows I hate that.

When it was bed time, I wasn’t alone. Chris and I were talking to each other and we weren’t even in the same room. It was funny. So I am watching my usual evening episode of my favorite television show, Will and Grace, when along comes my faithful Bear to join me. He made sure that I didn’t hog the entire bed. Isn't that sweet of him? No not really. In fact, he kept moving and coughing (we think he has allergy issues) so much that I didn't sleep to well. Our mattress is clean now, so tonight I can sleep with my husband. WOO HOO! But Bibi better watch out, because I have a water bottle beside my bed with his name written all over it.

Here kitty kitty kitty….

Really? You're fat AND happy??!!

Last night, I watched an episode of True Life on MTV last night called “I’m fat and happy”. The show featured three different people who were overweight and happy with it. From the moment I saw the title, I knew it would be intriguing and I knew I would have a problem with it. I think I even shouted out “Who in the world is fat AND happy!!”. I turn to one of my favorite quotes from an Austin Powers movie: “I eat because I’m unhappy and I’m unhappy because I eat. It’s a vicious cycle”.

For my entire life, I have been battling this issue. No, not being fat and happy. But the weight issue. I’ve been heaver than I am now and I’ve been lighter than I am now. I’ve discovered that I wasn’t any happier when I was heavier than when I was thin. Yes, I had body image issues but that’s another story for another day.

As long as I can remember, my brother has never had this issue. Look at pictures growing up, he was always thin. Try having a thin & smart sibling and see if you don’t have issues. He would come home from school and eat three hot dogs for a snack. A SNACK!! I simply thought about eating peanut butter crackers and gained 2 lbs. Granted, he’d eat the hot dogs on his way outside to shoot some hoops for hours, but still!! He probably still eats 3 hot dogs right before he runs a marathon. Ok yeah I really doubt that. Perhaps if I ran, I would be thin. Yeah because running is my problem, not chocolate. We belong to Gold's Gym and I go all the time. I take spin classes! When I'm on the treadmill, I jog....sometimes. Chris told me one time “You don’t jog, you hustle” and I wish I could make that into a bumper sticker.

Back to the original subject, I was watching this show & during commercials (because again, don’t talk to me during a show) I was running out to Chris and saying “this girl is fat and happy” or “I was never happy when I was fat”. He wasn’t really paying attention and I can’t blame him. But are these people REALLY overweight and happy? No. I don’t believe it for one second. I just think they wanted air time and MTV is struggling for ideas. Why don't you shoot an episode about the homeless. Wait, this is Mtv. Sorry folks, but I didn’t buy it. Nobody is overweight and happy with the fact that they are overweight. I mean if you have to go buy a larger clothing size, do you jump in the air for joy? You might jump up and down with anger. But being happy with being overweight, well it just isn’t true. Everybody in today’s society is trying to go on some crazy diet and be thin. I give you a scene from “The Devil Wears Prada” (one of my favorite books/movie EVER) :

Andy: So none of the girls here eat anything?
Nigel: Not since two became the new four and zero became the new two.
Andy: Well, I'm a six...
Nigel: Which is the new fourteen.

That’s all….

The blizzard...

So, we woke up to a light dusting of snow all over the place. Nothing to run and break out the sleds (a.k.a. garbage can lids) for, but enough that the meteorolists were right. I told Chris I wanted to go out & take pictures. He said to enjoy myself because he wasn't going to get up & get dressed. The more I bugged him, he finally caved in. I got dressed & when I went to look, I realized I wasn't the only one. Me, a 30 year old woman, and all the little Mexican kids that live in our complex were outside. I wasn't out yet, but I was about to be. I kind of got embarrassed, so I used the dogs as a tactic. That way, I didn't look like a complete loser. We snuck out the back & took Bear. One of the girls ran over to me & I just said to her "Doesn't this stink that this is happening on a weekend?" She said yes (she actually speaks English and loves Bear & Happy). So we snuck around the corner. Normally, she follows & asks 18 questions about Bear outside. "What is he doing?" "Why is he going outside". Nonetheless, Bear made yellow snow & then we went into the woods to take a picture. I know he didn't like it because he is extremely demosticated. Here is his debut...

We went back inside. We weren't going to take Happy's picture because he doesn't have much fur and the wet, cold snow was on his chest. After much debate, I decided to go back out and just hold him. Again, he is domisticated and he hates the cold. But here is his debut in the snow...

When I was in 1st and 2nd grade, we moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The snow today would have made the northerners laugh. In Pittsburgh, we had snow gear. Like, real snow gear. We had sleds, not garbage can lids. Real cool ones that were blue and had handles to help you steer. It also had a back to the seat that you could adjust. You know, to be comfortable as you burn rubber. We even had snow suits that you put on over your clothes. The first time it snowed in Alabama, Tim & I ran downstairs, threw on our snow suits & boots & went out with the neighborhood kids. We looked like FREAKS!! So we went back inside and begged mom to let us go without the suits. The thing about living in Pittsburgh is that we lived very close to the school. In the north, schools don't close with the threat of snow. It took a lot for us to stay home. Because most of the neighborhoods were practically built around the school, we had to walk. So guess what? I can tell my kids "When I was your age, I had to walk up hills, both ways...in the snow". Yes I can. Most people don't believe me because that's something your grandparents would tell you. But it is true. I can't wait. Wait, yes I can. I'm not ready for kids right now so that will just have to be filed away in the "One Day" file.

Anyway, after the photography session, Chris & I were over it. We go back inside & I was watching television. I was looking at the snow still falling and how beautiful it was. But, then I see one of the precious kids getting snow off of my car. Of course, I snap and tell Chris "those kids better get away from my car". Yeah, the snow brings out the best in people.

The tube

While times are changing, I am still stuck in Television Land. I still sit & stare at the television for hours. I get so caught up in a show, that I just block things out. A tornado could be coming, but I’m wanting to know what happens with a fictional character. It’s bad. If you talk to me during a show, I’ll either “shush” you or ignore you. Chances are, it’s the latter one.

I don’t watch educational things. Aside from The Office or Grey’s Anatomy, I am completely obsessed with reality television. I don’t care about a man surviving in the wilderness. (that’s completely staged, you know that don’t you) I don’t care about a man doing dirty jobs. Oh no. I’d rather watch drunk people get in fights and talk about each other behind their backs.

It started back in 1992, when I came upon a small television show called “The Real World” on MTV, back when they actually played music. This show was so riveting to me!! Granted, I was in 9th grade and about as mature as a 5 year old. If my parents came into the room, I would quickly flip the channel to something else. I was so afraid they would think I was doing bad things. These people seemed so cool. Just living in a loft in New York and doing nothing. But watching it, I wanted to do that. I wanted to be on TV. My friend Bradley & I had this goal. One of us would be on the show. It was usually him in this situation. He would purposely fight with his roommates and then call me to talk about it. That way, when he’s on the phone, it would say “Susan, Brad’s friend” and have an arrow pointing to the phone. This way, I was on TV, but not really. Anyway, I just began watching Real World over & over again for years. I don’t really like it now, because it’s not the same. I mean Heather with the beeper “Do you sell drugs” or Puck putting his finger in Pedro’s peanut butter, that’s captivating. Not Dunbar trying to “hook up” with a girl when he has a girlfriend. (Side note: I HATE the term “hook up”). That’s just stupid.

One show that I really like is Big Brother. All you have to do is sit in a house for 3 months and compete in challenges and just survive to the end. By survive, I mean talk about everybody behind their back. You say “yeah sure, I’m on your team” and then talk behind them to somebody else. It’s all about strategy. Thanks to the writer’s strike (don’t get me started) there is going to be a new season on next month. AWESOME!!! I started watching it from the beginning (Eric with only one leg) and even got my former roommate, Suzie, hooked on it. I secretly want to be on Big Brother. I mean bad. A few seasons ago, I printed out the application & started to fill it out. Then I really thought about it & threw it away. The funny thing about Big Brother is that my brother & sister-in-law watch it. I thought this was so funny when I found out, but that just meant that is another way I can relate to them. I just didn’t think they would watch something like that. But the funny thing was, my parents caught a part of one episode. Where the girls come out in the bikini’s made out of peanut butter. They just freaked out. I laughed and to this day, I swear they think we are watching something close to soft core adult movies. So not the case.

I wish I could watch educational things, but I won't. My husband hates reality tv with a "purple passion", yet I have him sort of watching shows. By watching, I mean walking thrugh a room & asking questions, such as "who got voted off this time?". He'll even use names but yet he doesn't watch them. It's infectious and I'll suck anybody into my "reality world". Want to see a good trainwreck? Catch Celebrity Rehab on VH1. It's my new favorite show.

I'm just jumping in...

A while back, I used to blog all the time, but then I got busy. I got married (WOOHOO) and just didn't have time. But, I'm back in effect and ready to get some things out there.

My latest obsession has been the Nintendo Wii. It is so much fun. I've always been a Mario fan. When I was younger & got confirmed in the Methodist church, I got some money as a gift. One of the things I bought with that was a Nintendo. I would sit & play it for hours upon hours. I would even play it before church, hit pause and then when we got home, continue to play. I even had it rigged up so I could lay down & play Super Mario Bros. 3 OR Blades of Steel (READY FIGHT). Ok so I would borrow that one from my brother because I liked to fight.

The latest game we got on our Wii is Guitar Hero. I am pretty good at it. Chris isn't. He made me play until I unlocked a certain character so he could use him. Is that fair?? No, but I did it anyway. I challenge anybody to a game of it. Only you have to play on the hard level for it to count.
