2009

Coming January 2009, I'm going to change the site a little. 2009 is the year of change for me. Several years ago, I set out on a mission to accompolish a very specific goal. I've let it fall through the cracks and made excuse after excuse for dropping the ball. I cannot blame anybody but myself. My website is going to be about this goal and the journey towards it. I think it will help me get where I want to go. Anyway, stay tuned for the new site and as always, Chris & I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Mazel Tov and all that good stuff.

Christmas

I am excited to finally be able to even think about Christmas. A week ago, no way. But Thanksgiving is over. I had a really good one. We went out to eat for lunch, which I would love to do from now on at Thanksgiving. Then Chris' parents, sister and brother-in-law came over and we played a game called Apples to Apples. It is a great game & fun for all. We played it for, what 2 hours or so!? I highly recommend it. But now, it's Christmas time.

I am going to try to not get caught up in the "who do I need to buy for" this year. I've made a list of who gets what and that is that. I'm going to try to be patient in line at stores, etc. Who am I kidding? I have no patience for anything. We haven't put out any decorations yet, but I'm ready to get all my snowmen out. I love snowmen!! They're so fat and happy and just make my soul smile. I'd decorate our whole place in snowmen if Chris would let me.

I discovered something about myself the other day. For whatever reason, any channel that plays Christmas movies all day long drives me insane. It's like animals in clothing, I just can't stand it. I don't even want to look at it. I think because on Lifetime they've had this Fa La La La Lifetime marathon going on and the movies are cheesy. I don't know but it drives me crazy.

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas movies. I just don't like cheesy ones. I love Elf with Will Ferrell. It's one movie that I can watch any time of the year. You can't beat this:

Oh well. So I guess we can now say "Tis the Season.....to watch cheesy movies". Merry Christmas!!

Put your tape deck on record...

OH SNAP!!! I have kind of quit watching SNL on Saturday nights. Why? Well, on Sunday the best clips are on SNL's website. So it saves the time (and sighing of my husband who insists "It's stupid". Did I ask him? No.) of watching the clips that aren't that good. Well I am so glad I decided to check their website. They did a skit they haven't done in a long time with "Blizzard Man". OH YEAH!! He is one of my most favorite characters. I'd have to say at least, top 5. Anyway, for some reason he reminds me of Chris and I don't know why. I guess because I've seen him make an attempt at rapping and/or dancing and it isn't pretty. Bless his heart. It's skits like this that makes me still want to be on SNL. Oh & can somebody PAH-LEASE remove T-Pain's sunglasses. They drive me insane this entire skit. If you don't know who T-Pizzle (that's slang for T-Pain) is, just look for the weird-o with sunglasses just dangling. Oh & I love Tim McGraw's line about cul-de-sacs. I think the best like is the last one "And I give them a honk...do do do.." I couldn't get it to post the video right, so I just put up a link. Click here to watch it.

Yeah Toby!!

Thursday's episode of The Office (T.O.), to me, was the best of season 5 so far. I've documented before about how much I love that Michael hates Toby. They never have expressed why and probably never will. I don't care about that. I just am thrilled to have this duo back. Toby doesn't hate Michael, he just puts up with him because he is an idiot. Admit it, if that was your boss, you'd just ignore him. I really like when Michael and Dwight team up because they both come up with some crazy, yet stupid, ideas. Here were my favorite lines from the episode:

Dwight: I love catching people in the act. It's why I always whip open doors.
Michael: Me too.

Michael: I tried. I tried! I tried to talk to Toby and be his friend... But that is like trying to be friends with an evil... snail. I feel like I'm dying inside. I feel like Neve Campbell in Scream 2. She thinks she can go off to college and be happy... And then, the murderer comes back. Starts killing off all of her friends. Learned a lot of lessons from that movie. This is just one of them.

Michael: You wanna see some real high-caliber acting? Well, Mr. Kurt Russell, you are about to be served.

Dwight: Brownies is it? Hmph. Pastry cubes made of sugar and fat. No thank you, I'll stick with my jurkey.

Dwight: Oh I've framed animals before. I framed a raccoon for opening a Christmas present. And I framed a bear for eating out of the garbage.

Andy: Uhhh. No, I was just walking by your desk, saw some email. [points to his eyes] I got peepers of an eagle.

Finally the best lines I think I've ever heard from T.O.:
Dwight: What is my perfect crime? I break into Tiffany's at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No. I go for the chandelier; it's priceless. As I'm taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It's her father's business. She's Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico but I go to Canada. I don't trust her. Besides, I love the cold. Thirty years later I get a postcard. I have a son. And he's the Chief of Police. This is where the story gets interesting: I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for me all these years. She's never taken another lover. I don't care. I don't show up. I go to Berlin. That's where I stashed the chandelier.

Here's the episode in case you missed it:

Be thankful

We tend to get caught up in our day to day motions. Get up, get the coffee going. Watch the news. Take a shower. Sit in traffic. Go to work and look forward to lunch. Eat lunch. Go back to work and look forward to quitting time. Sit in traffic. Watch some tv. Repeat the next day.

I had a reminder this week of what it's like to be there for someone. One of my co-workers (I hope she doesn't mind that I put this) got a phone call Thursday that her father passed away. He was 43 (she's 21). He wasn't sick. He was fine. It was very unexpected. She was completely shocked. She went into a panic attack and almost collapsed in my arms. Being that men in our office don't know how to handle females, two of them just stared at her. I made her sit down and called for back up. She lives 45 minutes away and had to get home. I was not going to let her drive. She was hysterical and her being upset, was making me upset. Several co-workers said I handled it very well. I didn't know where she lived. Just her city. Long story short, we got her home safely and I'm going to the memorial service tomorrow with another co-workers.

I've heard people say "You find out who your true friends are at weddings, birthdays and funerals". This girl is like a little sister to me and I can only imagine how she feels. She is the rock in her family and everyone turns to her. I give her much credit because at 21, I just wanted to party.

It made me realize there are certain people in my family that I don't call and say hello. Nothing more, nothing less. I know some people that call me and say "How are you" which really means "I don't care because I'm about to talk about myself". I cannot stand people like this & usually avoid their phone calls. Yada yada yada. So to everyone that reads this, try to call a relative you haven't spoken to in a while. Just say hi and tell them you were on their mind. You just never know.

My weekend and The Office

Chris went to New Orleans and Baton Rouge this weekend. Leaving me at home with our babies and a dirty apartment. It has been nice to sit and watch girly stuff and not have to hear comments. I was going to rent a movie last night but ended up going to the library and getting 2 autobiographical books about Audrey Hepburn. I really went looking for Tori Spelling's book, I've heard it is great, but they didn't have it. Then I went to the grocery store to pick up some items to make nachos. I made the best ones EVER!! I read some of my book and then went to bed. In the middle of my reading, Chris called to say he won $200!! So awesome because I just spent $140 at the vet because of Happy's eyes. Yes. That much money and turns out nothing was wrong and he's been able to hold them open more. The vet said it has to do with the dry air, his breed and change of time. It's rather common. WHATEVER...Happy, you are getting a job!! Anyway, this morning I slept until 10:00 which is unusual but I had nothing to do. After I got up, I did some cleaning and I organized our guest bedroom closet. Then I just sat and watched tv - more important the Bama vs. LSU game. (ROLL TIDE!!) Chris called before it started and they all got tickets. I was so jealous. He took a bunch of pics so I'm hoping to have something to put up. Then I went out on a date to Cracker Barrell. Sadly, I was by myself. Loser, party of 1, your table is now available. I'm about to go put on some pjs, hop in the bed & read.

I know I've stopped my episode recaps of The Office, but there has only been a few good moments that are worth discussing. The best part from Employee Transfer was Dwight messing with Andy.

The best part from this past episode, Customer Survey was this:

Blast (not really) from the past

So I am an avid fan of Facebook. I used to think it was only for college age kids but it is for everyone. I promise you. I go on it several times a day and keep in touch with people that I never thought I would see again. It is much safer than MySpace which I pretty much put in the garbage. Anyway, one of my friends put up a picture from when we were seniors in high school (1995). It was taken on Senior Day right after a program where we all cried like babies. Anyway, we were all making comments about how hideous we looked. For the record, I had braces, permed hair (my hair was not designed to have curls) and was overweight. There weren't plus size options like there are today. I had to dress like an 80 year old woman (which I literally did. I had on the same dress as a woman at my church and I threw it away that day) or have things made. So I had a dress made for me and it looked like a sheet. We were supposed to wear that dress under out gown at the graduation ceremony and I didn't. Can you find me (Amy, no hints)? Look for the fat girl:

Bad boys...Bad boys...

So we had an interesting evening. We live in an apartment complex so lots of crazy things happen. I think this takes the cake. Around 11:30 (or was it really 12:30...I don't know and I hate the time change) I was laying down & watching TV. I heard all of this noise outside and honestly, I thought it was one of our drunk Mexican neighbors. I just figured they were having a grand ol' time. The commotion stops, I hear car doors slamming & cars screeching out of the parking lot. I ignored it.

Chris comes & tells me that he had to call the police because there was a domestic dispute going on and it kind of freaked him out. He was in the living room and the noise caused him to go outside. The female was yelling "I just want my radio" and the male tells the female to "get the _______ out of here or he'll beat her __________ face in!!" The female gets in her car & the male (or suspect) then speeds off in his car. That is what caused Chris to cause the police. It's one thing to have a fight in your own home, but when you're argument is outside and can cause harm to other people (people walk their dogs at all hours of the night), time for the po po to come. So he goes outside to talk to the officer. The officer then tells Chris to go back inside so they won't know who called him.

Chris comes and tells me all about it and he's going to sit on the patio and watch what's going on. I was not going to miss it. So I put on a jacket and sat outside with him. I started to get nervous (and cold) that they could see us because our patio is right behind a light but there are trees blocking it. I decided to head inside. As soon as I took my jacket off, he comes running in and says "THEY'RE PUTTING SOMEBODY IN HANDCUFFS" and so I put my jacket back on and go back outside. Then we started doing a commentary on the situation like we were news reports. Then nothing exciting was happening so I went to bed.

If you were that couple and you're reading this (highly unlikely), I'm going to make a suggestion. Either break-up/separate or go to counseling. Just a thought.

The concert of the century

If you know me, you know about my love and obsession for New Kids on the Block. (Sidebar: I refuse to call them The Block. It's just not happening). When I was in middle school, I had a group of friends that loved them more than anything. We wrote stories about ourselves and each member of the group. Also, when everybody announced who they liked, somehow I got stuck with Jordan because I didn't want my friend Sarah to be mad at me. It's not that he was horrendous, but she had already claimed Donnie. What? Yes, you read that correctly. I have no clue why I didn't just say "I love him too" and we could go with it. But no. I was a closet Donnie fan. We laugh about it now because it was stupid. Now we all just say they are all good looking - even you Danny. I felt sorry for him because nobody really liked him. Then there was Jon. Amy was just in love with him, now he likes the boys. Nice. I hated it when they kind of walked away, but it was time. They were everywhere and it was ridiculous.

Cut to (this line is compliments of Madonna on Will & Grace) 2008 and six 30(ish) year old women going to the concert. So awesome. We left B'ham around 11:00. We were all so excited that we couldn't stand it. We stopped in Anniston at Chick Fil A. At lunch, I learned of Bon Qui Qui. Dang. We then decided to go to Wal-mart and buy some shoe polish and write on my friends mini-van. We each wrote on our window who we loved and then "Honk of you love NKOTB" on the back. When we got to Atlanta, people were honking I think I shouted something about being the popular kids. I was so embarrassed. Anyway, we got to Atlanta and went to the mall, hoping they would be there because that's what they did back in the day - go to the mall before concerts. We just walked around & some of my friends bought stuff. I was too excited & could've gone to sit in my seat at that point.

After the mall, we decided to eat at a mexican restaurant called Frontera. Well, so did everybody else going to the concert because there was a 45 minute wait. What? Yeah. So my friend worked some magic and cut to us sitting outside in 55 degree weather. When the waiter said we could sit outside, we got some very nasty looks. In our defense, he said that nobody asked. If I had been waiting like that and some girls cut in front of us, I would've said something to them.

With stuffed tummies, we headed to the concert which was just across the street. One of the girls in the group has gallbladder issues & got sick. I felt so bad for her. Was I a good friend and stayed with her? No, I bailed and then felt bad when we were in our seats & she was throwing up in the bathroom. So Amy went to check on her. Natasha Bedingfield opened. She wasn't too bad, but I was over her before she started. Note to everybody: It pays to watch The Hills because I was the only person who knew who Lady Gaga was when she came out. I didn't pay her any attention. I wanted to see my boys so bad. We made friends with the girls in front of us because we all have a common ground - NKOTB.

The lights dimmed and my friends, that are in their 30's, grabbed hands and screamed and jumped up and down. They didn't come out for another 3 mins or so but we still jumped & screamed. They came out & we screamed louder and harder. I mean ridiculous. For the past month, I listened to the new CD because I had to know all of the words. Good thing is that they did a mix of old and new stuff. My friend returned and was feeling better. We had pretty decent seats but it got better.

All of a sudden, security people came out and started clearing off the floor. We were on the 2nd row above the floor so I didn't know what was going on. HELLO - they came running out & performed several songs (Sidebar: I love "Dirty Dancing" and "2 in the morning") on a platform in the middle of the floor. Rather close to us. I think that's when I screamed the most. At one point as I was screaming, I felt something in my throat kind of pop and I tried my best not to scream anymore - but no luck. They went back on stage and did other songs. Jordan did his one hit wonder and so did Joey. My friend said "I'm not going home until they change into their jeans and do Hanging Tough".

Well the boys did the ol' "Shows over" fake out that nobody really falls for. The crowd did the "OOOH OOOOH OH OH OH - HANGING TOUGH" chant. Well they came back out and sang Step By Step. Fake out number 2 occurred and they finally came out and did Hanging Tough. Because I watched the Behind the Music special in VH1, I knew that they wrote that song for the Celtics. When Paul Pierce and KG were on the jumbo tron - I knew it. I looked around and the entire crowd was on their feet the entire time screaming and it gave me chills. It was crazy. Most of the crowd was women our age. There were a few men there, but they were either kidnapped or liked boys. The concert ended and we drove back to Birmingham that night.

I got in the bed about 2:30 and when I woke up, my abs were hurting, my legs were bruised and my throat was hurting. The abs hurt because of the screaming & laughing. My legs were bruised because the chairs below us kept bumping into me - crazy I know. My throat hurt from the screaming & singing at the top of my lungs. It is 2 days later and my voice is very raspy.

I think it's one of the best concerts I've ever been to. The Snoop/Korn/Linkin Park was so awesome but this one was better because of my group. It's all about your environment with certain things and I'm so glad we all got along and there was no conflict what so ever. I plan to do it all over again whenever they come back. I don't care if I'm 60. I have been on-line and looked at several videos of our concert. I love NKOTB and always have. Just because "they walked away" doesn't mean I did.

Here's some pics:

(L to R: Michelle, me, Amy, Ann (front), Sarah)
Jamming to my boys

I know Donnie is wishing he had my phone number.

Eventually, they pointed at us.

They were serenading just us.

Donnie wanting me to run into his arms.

My awesome NKOTB group - minus Sarah. She later joined us.

"I got a complicated order"

Ok so yesterday I went to the NKOTB concert, more on that when I get more pics. It was so much fun. I mean I just had way to much fun & was sad when it was over. I really feel like I busted a vocal cord & I can't talk too loud today. We screamed our heads off. Anyway, my friends told me about this skit from MadTV and I have no idea how I didn't know about it. I mean this is just bananas insane.

The Office: Baby Shower

So last night's episode was about the baby shower for Jan (you know Michael's ex girlfriend that is pregnant by a sperm donor). I have to say that it was pretty funny. Much better than last week. I could watch the opening scene several times over I think. Michael needs to prepare for when Jan gives birth so he has Dwight create several scenarios via the birth of a watermelon. Oh it was hilarious!!! Michael goes to check on the planning of the shower and turns out he has M&M's with a boys name "Chevy" and a girls name "Astird". Nice. Well how about a nice surprise, Jan shows up to the shower with the baby. I loved her singing "Son of a Preacher Man" to the baby. Uh very inappropriate if you know the meaning of that song. I felt so bad for Michael. However he redeemed himself when Jan asked him not to date Holly and he walked right in and hugged her. Usually Michael is such a pushover but I think this was just the last straw. I was afraid they would just drag out that flirting friendship between Michael and Holly. Oh & I felt bad for Jim & Pam but at the end, you could see they both felt they were just having a bad day.

Before I get to my favorite lines, I need more Creed but not too much. I couldn't take him as a main character but he needs more screen time like Kevin. Creed's line was my favorite of the night.

Now time for my favorite lines/exchanges:

Michael: Aaaaaaaa! It's coming! Here we go! [drops the watermelon onto the floor] Oh! God! Wow! What was on that?
Dwight: Butter. Newborns are slippery.
Michael: Nice touch. Good. Let's try that again.

Michael: I know. I know. It is beautiful. No. Thank you. Is this it? I mean, is this... Two bowls of M&Ms and some balloons? You know what Phyllis, I think you need to step it up. I think you need to get the lead out. Because if I'm not mistaken, we gave you your wedding shower here. We all came into this room and gave you a golden shower. Well you know what, where's my golden shower, Phyllis?

Dwight: Who's Sarah Kayacombsen?

Michael: Um, listen. Jan Levinson is coming in today, and she is in the terminal stages of her pregnancy - the child of which I have a vested interest. It's all kind of weird. Anyway, she is incredibly... fat and enormous right now - extremely unattractive. And you are, on the other hand, one of the more attractive people in the office. So, while she's here I am going to be acting kind of cold to you. And I am doing this to pay respect to her bloated feelings. And I'm treating Ryan the same way.

Dwight: Jan had the baby and Michael wasn't there to mark it. So the baby could be anybody's. Except Michael's.

Dwight: [heaving the stroller into a tire yard] Don't hit the fence. Oh no, my child!

Dwight: [heaving the stroller into a tire yard] Don't hit the fence. Oh no, my child!

Dwight: [heaving the stroller into a tire yard] Don't hit the fence. Oh no, my child!

Angela: You gave birth in a tub?
Jan: Yeah, it's a really nice transition from womb to world, you know, kind of like a big womb.
Kelly: Um, so you're in the tub with everything?
Jan: Oh, yeah, the afterbirth floats, yeah.
Creed: Must be like the tide at Omaha Beach. (best line of the night)

Jan: [wakes up on the reception couch] Oh. I was just catching up on my sleep.
Holly: I can imagine.
Jan: Where's Astrid?
Holly: Oh, I think she's on a sales call.
Jan: On a what?
Holly: Waaa! More paper! Waaa! [she cracks herself up but Jan is unimpressed] No, she's just on a coffee break.
Jan: [sarcastically] That's funny.
Holly: She's with Angela

Michael: I didn't feel much when I held Astrid, but I got a good feeling from Holly.

Michael: Yeah, I a baby daddy. Um, when you first became a baby daddy, did you have an immediate connection with that baby? Like, the first time that you held it, did you find that with your baby baby?
Darryl: Hell yeah. You know why? Because that was my baby.
Michael: I just saw this baby daddy-
Darryl: You should stop calling yourself "baby daddy."
Michael: Why, Darryl, because I'm quote white quote unquote?
Darryl: Because you're not a daddy, and it's not your baby.

Until next new episode, you can watch The Baby Shower here:

The Office: Business Ethics

Ok so this week was just an ok episode. The only thing that made me laugh, aside from Stanley saying "this meeting" was this scene shown in the picture. The episode was about Holly, the new Toby, had to give a Business Ethics meeting due to Ryan (a.k.a. The Hired Guy) and his shinanigans last season. The scene where Jim was at Andy's desk was just hilarious.

Here are my favorite lines/exchanges:
Creed: The tall guy got engaged

Andy: I'll drop an ethics bomb on you. Would you steal bread to feed your family? ... Boom!Oscar: Exactly, Andy.
Andy: Yeah, I took intro to philosophy, twice. No big deal.
Dwight: It's a trick question. The bread is poisoned. Also, it's not your real family. You've been cuckolded by a stronger, smarter male.
Andy: No that's... not how it works.
Michael: I would not... steal the bread. And I would not let my family go hungry.

Oscar: Ok, once in a while I'll take a long lunch.
Michael: A siesta!
Dwight: Time thief. Time thief! Fire him!
Jim: Dwight, you've really never stolen any company time?
Dwight: Never!
Michael: You are a thief of joy. Anybody else. Yeah?

Michael: Here too. You know what my favorite season is?
Holly: Maybe we should talk about Meredith first.
Michael: Yeah, get the boring stuff out of the way. Autumn was what I was going to say. When the leaves change. It's just, I... I think it is the most contemplative of seasons.

Michael: I will be honest with you. That car ride did not go well and that was not my fault. The only reason I am standing out here right now is because I don't want to take the elevator with her. And I am holding on to her leftovers. [throws Holly's leftovers in the trash]

Like I said, it was just ok. Here is the whole episode:

Sidebar: I think I may be loving the new show Kath and Kim. Time will tell.

After School Special - no joke

Some of you may or may not remember the ABC After School specials. They were serious life lessons from the 1980's. Here are two that I think we should all watch and hopefully, you can learn something. Consider yourself lucky that I am concerned for you.

Wait for the title at the end...classic!!

Gang violence is no laughing matter.

Two words: JAZZ HANDS!!!!

Saturday Night what?

My husband and I had a discussion the other day about SNL. We all know how my secret dream is to be on this show. Chris refuses to watch it, but I still won't give up. Yes it's kind of on a downward spiral, but it usually does that. Andy Samberg is my absolute favorite actor on the show. However, I have a new favorite after watching it this weekend and that is Kristen Wiig. She always plays random and crazy characters. After this skit, she won my heart!

Ideas?

Anybody got any ideas/requests/thoughts on what I can write about. I need to know what subject ideas you are interested in learning my thoughts. I have an opinion on everything, but I'm curious to know what you want to know.

Send your ideas to me!!

I've had thoughts on a memory between me & Poppa. Which led to a memory between me & Pops. Which led to how crappy some movies can be. Long story but if you're interested in that or anything let me know. I've had thoughts on certain people in Hollywood, certain tv shows and what kind of movies would I want to do if I was famous. I doubt anybody is really interested. I don't know.

Help me out folks! I mean it's all bananas!!!

I guess it is a technicality!?

Can I just say that I love fashion. I love to watch the fashion shows. For instance I love to watch What Not to Wear. I wish somebody would nominate me just so I can get Clinton and Stacey to help me. I know I don't need help, but I want it. (Side note: Chris will watch some of this show) I love the outfits in this picture, aside from the houndstooth shoes. Even though I want to, I know that I cannot wear that first outfit because it will accentuated my hips. They don't need help. They stick out enough already. Thank you genetics.

According to my calendar, it is technically fall. The first day of fall was last week. I get it. You (not you the reader but the proverbial you) love the change of season which means new clothes. Put up the shorts, tank tops and flip flops because fall is here.

I live in the south. It doesn't really get cold until maybe November. I can recall several Christmas' that I had on a t-shirt and was still hot. You just never know.

Having said that, ladies in the south, please don't break out your fall wardrobe yet. The high is still in the 80's!! You look quite dumb with boots and a sweater on when it's hot outside. I understand that many offices keep their air conditioning set on 65 so you need a jacket or sweater. I get it. I'm going to kill the person who keeps changing the air in our kitchen. But take the sweater off when you get outside. I mean, you look dumb!!! I'm not saying stay in your wife beater and Daisy Duke shorts, but there had to be a happy medium?! A co-worker and I make fun of people downtown that wear boots/sweaters. Believe it or not, I have seen it already. Please, get the message out there. Stop the madness. It's real simple folks. Dress for the weather and I won't make fun of you.

The Office: Weight Loss

I've decided to start giving my quick thoughts on the new episodes of The Office. Since I am so obsessed with it, might as well talk about it. If you don't watch it, I suggest you start so you can keep up with me. Here we go:

Last night's episode was the Season 5 Premiere and it was called: Weight Loss.

Evidently there was a contest over the summer between all of the branches of Dunder Mifflin. The branch that lost the most weight got 3 days off. However, it then turned to 5 days off.

I've been a big Jim and Pam fan since - FOREVER!! I'm so glad she didn't marry Roy. At the season finale, Jim was supposed to propose, but he didn't. Andy Bernard proposed to Angela and that deflated Jim's engagement bubble. We also saw how Dwight and Angela were caught getting busy. Back to Jim and Pam. They talked about it over the summer and since Pam was going to Graphics Arts School for 3 months, they didn't want to begin their engagement with her in another city. That is understandable!!! Jim couldn't wait any longer and asked her to meet him for lunch halfway between Scranton and New York. In the pouring rain, he proposed to her and it was very romantic.

Andy was busy trying to plan the perfect wedding for him and Angela because "Every little boy fantasizes about his fairytale wedding". Every time he went around Angela, she would pick up the phone. I didn't know what she was doing, but she was paging Dwight to have some alone time in the warehouse. Andy went through the universe to find a location. There was The Breakers in Rhode Island where his "parents decided not to get divorced". Then because she was so picky, he paid 4 non-refundable down payments on a hot air balloon, Epcot Center, scuba diving in the Bahamas and the Marriott Center Ballroom C. Angela replied "Dangerous. Tacky. Sharks. Haunted. No.". I mean just classic Angela answers. I'll be curious to see how far this engagement/wedding thing goes. I read that there will be 3 weddings before the season is over. As long as Jim/Pam are one, I don't care.

Then there was everybody's weight loss tactics. I had no idea this would be the episodes subject. But it started out with the branch attempting to gorge, but Dwight ruined that. On Monday, Oscar had a piece of grilled chicken and case of Diet Coke over the weekend. Andy didn't have anything since noon on Friday and Kelly was drinking some crazy concoction.

Here are my favorite lines/exchanges:

Andy (talking to Angela about hiring his a capella group for the wedding): "Ok, I hear you, sweetheart, but this is a deal breaker. But you know what? You're gonna love these guys. Carl 1, Carl 2, Rockley Rob, Spare Rib, Doobie, Lunch Box, Boner Champ, that's me, Pubie Lose and the News, Hopscotch, Jingle Jangle, Sandwich. These are the best best-man a guy could ever hope for."

Dwight: "This is what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna randomly select three names and these three people will get liposuction. Uhhhhh Stanley, Phyllis, Kevin. And you will be responsible for your own medical bills."

Michael as Michael Clump: " It's my sumo suit. I just didn't inflate it all the way. I am so glad that I bought instead of rented."

Pam: "I will be a little fish in the big apple. [does hand gesture] What up, 212?"

Jim/Dwight/Michael: "Dwight: Wait a minute. One more bite of eclair each. Hold it in your mouth if you can't swallow.Jim: [smiles, looks to Michael] Really, nothing?"

Creed: "That wasn't a tapeworm"

Michael: [rapping] I'm MC Mike Scott, and I am hot. She's DJ Jazzy Flax, and she is the best. All those sucker branches can suck our fat!
Holly: Wikka wikka wikka what?

Andy: "Andy Bernard does not lose contests. He wins them... or he quits them because they are unfair."

Kelly:"[sickly] I am on the third day of my cleanse diet. All I have to do is drink maple syrup, lemon juice, cayenne pepper and water for all three meals. Um, I just bought some bikinis online, size 2. So ... gonna look amazing."

Ok I could go on forever. If you missed the episode or just want to watch it again, see below. FYI, you can watch any episode of any tv show you like for free over at Hulu .

New Fad!

For those of you who know me, know that I've battled with my weight all of my life. Always have and always will. I am not as big as I used to be and I'm not as small as I used to be. Again, I will always have this battle.

I've done it by myself, the natural healthy way. I've hired trainers. I've just done probably any crazy thing out there. But I know the best program for me is Weight Watchers . The other day, I got out all of my materials and just revisited everything that I know, but stopped doing. It's time to get to that goal I started like 8+ years ago. The goal was to lose 100lbs. I lost about 93 of that and was so close to my goal. However, I got engaged and married and thought I could eat what he did and when he did. Therefore, I put on some lbs. I'm not going to admit how much, but I have put some on. I have since learned that I cannot do that. I just simply ignored the scale and had to get bigger sizes.

I recently have just decided enough is enough. Time to get to the goal. As crazy as it may seem, I do this much better alone. I don't need a buddy or someone to tell me what to do. I just have to do it. I'll update my fabulous readers on my progress every now and again and will admit when I fail. I have some mini goals that I'm going to set. I think my first one is that when I lose my first 10lbs, I will buy a new purse. (SIDE NOTE: I saw the cutest purse yesterday at DSW. It was a red Nine West purse for $30. WHAT? I know. But that is a tank of gas in the car and getting to work is more important than a purse. Well, not really. I mean there is no price on cuteness; but I know that's Chris' philosophy) I've learned that it is best to take it 10lbs at a time. That is an obtainable goal for me.

I'm off to drink some water and think light thoughts.

Oh and this has nothing to do with weight, but was anybody else surprised about Clay Gaiken? No. I have a friend that I just wish would come out already. I don't know what his deal is. It wouldn't be a shock. I mean, he choreographed a dance for a party we had in high school. It was a 70's, 80's and 90's theme. The theme was also his idea. Yeah, the dance even had peel offs and if I heard 9 to 5, I'm sure I could do the dance again. Whatever. Oh and he recently went to Fashion Week in New York. Most heterosexual men would rather put a hot poker in their eye than attend an event like that. Not this guy. You enjoy your secret life, I know the real deal.

Busted Poooooocket...

So last night, Chris and I went and saw one of our most favorite comedians ever, Jim Gaffigan. For those of you who know us, you know that we are late to everything. I mean everything. It's mostly my husband!! He will be late to his own funeral, I swear. But what I have learned about Chris is that when he is excited about something he is on time or early. Write it down folks, we were in our seat 20 minutes early. That's right. The show started at 8:00 but we left the house at 6:30 and got some dinner. We were actually laughing about the fact that we left early.

The show was great. He did a bunch of new stuff that we had never heard. One of the great things about Jim Gaffigan is that his show is pretty clean. I don't think I hear him say one cuss word. His material is just everyday stuff that is funny. He was talking about camping and bowling. It was just hilarious. His most famous bit that he has is about Hot Pockets. Click here to watch a clip.

We had decided earlier that we were going to stick around for the meet and great. We had the camera and we even stopped at the grocery store and bought 2 boxes of Hot Pockets. I knew that wasn't an original idea, because on his DVD, Beyond the Pale, there is a special on fans bringing them. BUT, what I did do was tear out the back part of the box that talks about how they are "Good in so many ways". That way, we wouldn't have this big box and look stupid like other people did.

The show is over and evidently the line starts outside of the Alabama Theatre. Being a person that works downtown, I was just prepared for crazy people. I only saw one guy who was looking for the bus station. One of my co-workers and I joke about how that is just the crazy station. We are standing at the top of the theater waiting for the crowd to clear out. We see Jim and are so excited but then we see this fan that is jumping up and down looking stupid. We agreed NOT to do that. So we decide to go and get in line and we wanted to be towards the end. The line was kind of long and for a brief moment, Chris didn't want to stand in it. I gave him the choice of either waiting in line or going home and having a ticked off wife. He chose to stay. We were in line for about an hour and a half. Yes. This girl in front of me kept turning around and staring at us. I finally just stared back every time she did. I did not blink. I just gazed at her. What was her problem? Get out of my face!! These 4 guys in front of them had Chris & I dying because they were such tools. They were talking about different levels of a computer game and getting into the "trophy room" and then they had a discussion of which was better Longhorn Steakhouse or Texas Roadhouse. LOSERS!!!

So here we are, in line with goobers but we had finally made it inside the building. We can see Jim!! EEK!! We were internally screaming like kids, but outside we were just cool. I get our stuff out for him to sign and for whatever reason, he (Jim, not Chris) keeps looking at me. I don't know why. I would just smile and he smiled back. We're inching closer and closer. The 4 tools are with him. Chris has the camera read. The staring lunatic and her whatever are with him. WE'RE UP NOW!

Some guy takes the camera and we greet Jim. He looks at our Hot Pocket box and reads the "Good in So Many Ways" bit and I say "Yeah and it's Beef Taco. How delicious is that?" and he laughed. It wasn't a courtesy laugh, it was an actual laugh. I know because I saw him chuckle on stage and I know everything, right?! JIM GAFFIGAN laughed at me. Me! Chris made some comment and Jim laughed too. I couldn't believe it. He thought we were funny. We thank him for taking the time to wait so long and are moving on to take the picture. Here is the best/worst part. Are you ready?!

Time to take the picture. We get on each side of the camera and smile. 1, 2.........................nothing. Camera doesn't work. Are you seriously effing kidding me. The guy tries again. He and Jim are so nice and he tells us to just step aside and work on the camera. They don't make us leave but we are feverishly working on what to do. There is a struggle/argument of "I can fix it" from both of us. Chris wins and is working on it. We get it ready. We interrupt the line and the guy tries again. 1, 2.....................nothing again. The battery died. Are you serious!!! I quickly tell Chris to get out his cell phone. It works, we thank them for dealing with our madness and we leave. I am aggrivated but at least we have a picture and signatures.

Here's to you Jim Gaffigan and your bacon!

Items out and ready to sign

He signed them, WOO HOO!!!
